Sample Map Views Here are a few samples of the Map view. The first two are in the sample database included with the downloadable demo software.(The maps may not fit within your browser screen -- scroll to the right if needed to see the whole image.) Note that some of these sample maps were drawn on the computer, and some were scanned from a brochure. You can use any map that's in computer form, or scanned in from a brochure, drawing, or photo. Or you can draw your own map similar to these using the Windows Paint program. This first map uses a variety of rectangle and circle site indicators. They can be placed anywhere on your map and made an appropriate size. If site numbers don't exist on your map (or the indicator covers the number), the site name or number can be included in the indicator. The colors used in this example are the standard map colors for Available (white), Reserved (yellow), Occupied (green), and Occupied But Due Out Today (light green). You can change the colors used for each status as desired. The map is fully interactive using the mouse (e.g. right-click for a menu of functions, double-click an open site to make a new reservation, etc.)
The map below is the same basic map, but uses some different options. Instead of simple rectangles and circles, the Fill-type indicator has been used to completely fill each site's outline. This results in a cleaner map, especially when odd shapes are present. Also note that the colors are different -- this shows the option to use the reservation status colors instead of the simple Occupied/Available/Reserved colors. So instead of just seeing green for Occupied, you see the same indication as you would on the rack. Now you can see which sites are group reservations, which are monthlies, who has not paid in full, which are guaranteed reservations, and so forth.
If your park is large, you can split it up into as many map segments as you wish, and put navigation buttons on the maps linking them together. You could also include a master overview map, where the operator can click on a section to zoom in to that section (change to the section map). You can even set up separate maps for special events, to include temporary/overflow spaces for instance. Remember, the map background can be anything you like, and you have complete control over the position and size of the site status indicators, so the possibilities are endless. |
